Venue
San Gaetano
The San Gaetano was built in 1582, when the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi of Vicenza began the construction of the church of San Gaetano. From 1693 to 1730 Savonarola commisioned works to complete the monastery. On 2 February 1874 the City of Padua bought the building and used as a Civil Court and prison. On February 12, 1920 a terrible fire broke out undermines the structure. The engineer Tullio Paoletti oversaw the reconstruction, resulting the classical architecture that we see today. |
